Who I Am

  Hello! My name is Gretchen Spears. I am a wife and a mother of three grown sons and a mother-in-law. My passion is sharing Jesus and the Word of God. I married my high school sweetheart in 1993. My husband is a lineman.  It has made for a rather adventurous life full of great opportunities to meet women and share with them the Word of God.

His Word is pattern, a pattern that points to its Author, Jesus Christ. I believe God has called me to boldly bring forth these patterns and connections to stir up women who have ears to hear. The LORD first called me to this while I was sitting on my bed, pouring my heart out to God, asking Him to use me to teach His Word. I had just finished teaching a Bible Study on the Book of Revelation, and teaching Jonah at a women’s retreat. I did not know what was next? So I asked the LORD. Almost audibly, He gave me a play by play of what I was to do. Teach a lesson, 15 minute break, Teach another lesson…a pattern was shown to me, and the total was 6 hours long! To my shame, I thought to myself, “Nah, no one will come to hear for 6 hours.” I tried ignoring the call, for two days. >>>It was cold outside so I went out to start and warm up my mini-van. When I started it, the radio was on. I went back inside. I waited, and when I thought the van must be warm, I opened the van door… and on the radio, Alistair Begg said, “And Ezra taught the Word of God for 6 hours”. I started to cry, and I turned on my heal, went inside, and contacted my friends to invite them to a 6 hour teaching at my home. 14 people came to that first conference at my house… and the LORD has grown the ministry of Bold Utterance ever since.

My purpose is to share and teach the Word with as many women as possible. May God be glorified in what He has called me to do.
